Get a sneak peak of Android O with the Launcher APK
Google announced the newest version of Android O during their annual conference this week. While it might not be available in your local app store just yet, you can already play with it if you download the Android O Launcher APK from our website. It gives you an exclusive sneak peak at what’s coming in the next major version of Google’s mobile operating system, and best of all, it’s easy to install!
What is an APK?
An APK, or application package file, is used for installing software onto your phone. The Android operating system uses an APK to install apps that are not pre-installed on your device. This is why it's important to download an Android O launcher before the release date and install it on your phone. You will then have time to get familiar with its new features and find what you like about it and what you don't like about it. You will also have time to find out if there are any bugs in the new version of the Android OS before it gets released on August 21st, 2017.
How to get Android O launcher on your device now
Android O, Google's next big update for Android, is set to be released later this summer. To get an early peek at it, you can install the new launcher on your device by downloading it from APK Mirror. It won't have all of the features that are coming in Android O, but it will allow you to see some of the changes that are coming to one of your most used apps. The first thing you'll notice when opening up the app drawer is the search bar that has been moved to the top. There's also a banner image at the bottom, which could change depending on what type of app or file it is - when I opened up WhatsApp, it showed me my profile picture and contact information. You'll also notice smaller icons - these are now adaptive so they're able to fit more items into one screen without scrolling like before.
How to install an APK
1. Go to Settings and scroll down to Security.
2. Slide Unknown sources to On or Automatic. This will allow you to install an app that isn't from Google Play Store.
3. Tap on Settings and then tap on Security again. 4. Under Device Administration, find Unknown sources and make sure it's set to ON or Automatic.
