How to Disable Night Mode on Your iPhone in 3 Easy Steps
Night mode is one of those features that’s nice to have, but not necessarily needed. If you do find that you use it often, it’s important to disable it when you don’t need it, so your battery doesn’t get drained too quickly. Thankfully, enabling or disabling night mode on the iPhone only takes a few quick steps, so your eyes can rest easy when the sun goes down. Here’s how!
1) Open your Settings
1. Open Settings by tapping the Settings app from your home screen and then tapping General.
2. Scroll down until you see the Display & Brightness option near the bottom of the list and then tap it. 3. Tap the toggle switch next to the Auto-Night mode so that it turns off and then hit Done. If you want to disable Night mode altogether, just turn this toggle switch all the way over to Off instead. Once again, go back to Settings > General > Display & Brightness, and then make sure the toggle switch is turned off.
The last thing you need to do is scroll down below Night Mode and ensure that Auto-Brightness is enabled. The slider should be set at a medium level or higher (between 50% - 75%) which will allow iOS devices with auto brightness enabled to automatically change the display brightness depending on how bright or dark it is outside.
2) Select Display & Brightness
1. Open the Settings app
2. Select Display & Brightness
3. Scroll down and turn off the Night Shift switch if you want to disable it.
The setting will also automatically disable at sunset if you have a location enabled for the automatic time change.
3) Toggle off Night Shift
Night Shift is a feature that was added with the release of iOS 9.3. It allows you to adjust your screen's color temperature from sunset or sunrise settings, or manually set it from 2500k-10000k. This can help reduce eye strain and improve sleep quality by reducing exposure to blue light when you're trying to wind down for the night.
To disable Night Shift, go into Settings and select Display & Brightness > Night Shift.
