If you’ve blocked someone in WhatsApp and wish to unblock them, there are two ways you can go about it. One way involves unblocking them on your phone, while the other requires logging into the web app on your computer and removing them from your blocked contacts list. Let’s look at both options in greater detail below!

Why do you block contacts?

A lot of people block their contacts for various reasons, some do it to keep their conversations more private, others do it because they don't want to talk to that person. Whatever the reason may be, if you want to remove a blocked contact from your chat list, it's not as hard as you think!

How to find blocked contacts

A blocked contact on Whatsapp will not be able to send you messages or see your profile picture. To remove the block, open WhatsApp and tap the Menu button located in the top-right corner of the screen. Tap People and Groups from the list of options, then tap Blocked Contacts at the top of that menu. Tap Unblock next to their name to unblock them.

Unblock someone in Android phone

In order to unblock someone on your Android phone, open the Settings app and tap Accounts. Next, tap Add account. If you are already signed into an account, scroll down and select Add another account. If not, select Create new account and follow the prompts to sign in with your Google or Facebook credentials. Once you have added the second account, scroll down and select Contacts to find your blocked contact. Tap on that contact and then select Unblock from their profile page.

How do I unblock someone using iPhone?

Open the WhatsApp app and tap the People icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. 

Tap Blocked Contacts at the top of the screen. Scroll to find and tap your contact's name, or enter their name in the search bar. Tap Unblock to unblock them.

What does it mean when you block or unblock someone on WhatsApp?
